Support Circusplaneet by donating a gift for the renovation of our circus church! Together with you we will make the circus church a warm meeting place where everyone is welcome with circus as a driving force.

In 2015, Circusplaneet bought the church of the social district of Malem in Ghent. Circusplaneet wants to transform the place into a ‘community circus’: a warm community place where everyone is welcome, a place where people work together with circus as a driving force, a place that encourages dialogue and encounters in the neighbourhood, a place where young circus blood can train and create, a place where children and young people can learn at their own pace and develop their talents in this way. We pay particular attention to the socially vulnerable children and young people in the neighbourhood. With a weekly free circus lesson they learn the tricks of the trade, in the ‘community training’ they train side by side with professional circus artists.
Circusplaneet works together with Plano Architects to bring the renovation of the church to a successful conclusion. They have turned our dreams into a achievable design. The most important interventions are the realisation of a foyer with open doors for the neighbourhood and the design of a circus hall with the necessary facilities. The church will also be adapted with a view to full accessibility for people with disabilities.
In this way, the dream of Circusplaneet can continue to grow, under the church tower, but also far away from it.
