During the the BIC training course you learn you how to teach the basic skills of circus arts (acro, balance, aerial acrobatics, juggling, theatre) to children, young people and adults. By using the circus method, you will learn how to set fine and gross motor skill goals, creative goals and social goals in a safe environment.
And after that?
After the training course you will be able to master a number of basic techniques and you’ll be able to teach them to children, young people and adults. Being a circus teacher is not the same as being an artist. The pedagogical aspect is central is this training. You can give circus sessions to all kinds of target groups. You will also receive the certificate ‘Teacher in the Circus Arts’.
° You are at least 18 years old
° You work actively with children and/or young people: in youth work, as a sports teacher, educator, movement therapist, …
° Experience in circus is not required, but you are motivated to learn circus techniques.
° The total duration of the BIC course is 20 days. You are supposed to follow the whole cycle. The entire course consists of a ten-day course in Leuven (at Cirkus in Beweging) during the summer holidays and five follow-up weekends throughout the school year.
