Everyone who is involved in Circusplaneet respects the structure and the agreements, but also has the right to have their say. Feel free to talk to employees if you have anything to say, or if you have any questions or suggestions. These rules and regulations can also be adjusted following your suggestions or remarks and will then take effect after approval by the Board of Directors. During the lessons, the rehearsal room is only accessible to the teacher and the students of that particular lesson, unless the teacher decides otherwise. The others wait upstairs in the foyer. Parents do not enter the rehearsal room either. Participants and instructors must wear sports clothing that is suitable for the activities. Indoors only with inner shoes or barefoot. Teachers set a good example.
Smoking and drugs
Smoking is not allowed on the entire school grounds (both inside and outside). Outside the site, no smoking is allowed in the proximity of children and adolescents under the age of 18 during circus activities, and teachers are forbidden to drink alcohol during their teaching hours. If you are over 16 years of age, you should treat alcohol responsibly at Circusplaneet. It is forbidden for people under 16 to drink alcohol. Other drugs are not allowed. Participants and employees are prohibited from using other drugs during Circusplaneet activities. Under the influence of drugs, it is not possible to do circus.
Buildings and sites
Eating and drinking is not allowed in the rehearsal room. Drinking water is allowed. The secretariat is not accessible to anyone in the absence of people who have a key to the secretariat. The secretariat will be closed in their absence. Pets are not allowed in the training room. Pets are allowed outside the training room if they do not disturb anyone. The pet may not prevent anyone else from entering Circusplaneet, e.g. due to fear or an allergy.
The circus equipment is at the disposal of the students during the lessons and of the members during the community training. Users of the material treat it ‘like a good housekeeper’. After use, the material is stored where it belongs. Any defects in the material will be reported to the responsible teachers.
Everyone is responsible for their own material that is left behind on Circusplaneet. Make sure you apply the necessary markings.
Circusplaneet cannot be held responsible for theft, loss or damage to personal belongings.
For safety reasons, balance and aerial acrobatics materials are only lent to teachers who know how to work with these materials.
Circusplaneet tries to deal with the planet in a sustainable way. We call on our members to contribute to this idea of sustainability.
Cross-border behaviour such as aggression, bullying and sexual harassment will not be tolerated. If you would like to report cross-border behaviour, please contact our Integrity Contact Point (API) at email@example.com They handle every question discreetly and guarantee anonymity. Together with those involved, they will look for an appropriate solution in function of the reported incident. The interests of the victim always take precedence.
Together with all its members, Circusplaneet works towards a safe circus environment, but of course circus is never without risks. At the entrance of the buildings you will find posted safety regulations, an accident procedure and first aid guidelines that have to be followed.
Circusplaneet also wants to stimulate a mentally safe environment. The circus pedagogy is not competitive, and has an eye for sufficient differentiation in accordance with the wishes and needs of each individual. Circusplaneet also wants to be accessible to all children who want to do circus.
If you are involved in CIRCUSPLANEET (whether by using our website, following us on social media, participating in our activities, applying for a job, etc.), this means that you are entrusting us with certain personal data. We take the safety of this information seriously.
What data does CIRCUSPLANEET collect from you?
When you participate in one of our activities, images can be taken there. We do this because we are proud of our work and our people and because we attach great importance to authentic image use in our communication. If someone comes along during the activities of Circusplaneet to take pictures, this will be communicated to the participants and asked if anyone has any objections. If you prefer not to be portrayed, please let us know orally. If you don’t want to be shown for every activity, you can let us know when you register at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our performances, festivals and presentations fall under the category of public events: photos are taken here as a matter of course. If you feel uncomfortable with this, you can always let the photographer or one of the Circusplaneet employees know on the day itself.
How do we store and protect your data?
When you submit data to us, your data will be stored in our secure data file, which will be stored in the Google Cloud. They are only stored there for the purpose of our operations. They are protected by the general guarantees of protection offered by Google for its users.

What do we do with it?
We use your contact details for administrative purposes as standard. This means that as a participant in an activity you will receive a number of emails related to your registration (registration confirmation, payment and practical information, evaluation).
Your registration entitles you to free receipt of the ‘Circus magazine’ from our umbrella organisation ‘Circuscentrum’ for those who wish to receive it. In this context, we will pass on your name and address details to Circuscentrum vzw.
Only when you subscribe to the Circusplaneet newsletter do we use your contact details to send you our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in the mails themselves or by contacting us.
Photos and videos made of you with permission can be used in our communication channels (website, social media, newsletters).
Who has access to your data?
Only our employees have standard access to the personal data of the persons in our database. When you participate in an activity given by a guest lecturer or in collaboration with another organisation, we also provide him/her with your data.
Our permanent staff as well as our guest lecturers and partner organisations contractually undertake to use it only for Circus Planet activities. Under no circumstances will we pass on your contact details to third parties for commercial purposes.
How can you change your data yourself?
You have the right to access, change or delete your own personal data in our database at any time. To do so, please send us an e-mail at email@example.com. Please note that if you subsequently register again for a course via our website, we will collect certain data from you again (see above).
